Transforming Complexity into Actionable Insights

Now

Work

I'm currently project managing several interesting projects at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust:

  •  Setting up the Proton Beam Therapy National Clinical Registry. Proton Beam Therapy is a highly precise form of radiotherapy that uses protons instead of X-rays to target and destroy cancer cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. A cyclotron is used as an accelerating device that takes protons stripped from hydrogen gas and accelerates them to approximately two-thirds the speed of light.  Due to the high setup costs, the treatment costs around £100,000 per session.
  • Rolling out an MFA upgrade to the EPR for external users.
  • Two projects around Clinical Trials Management. One for radiology, and another for pharmaceutical companies using a SMART on FHIR implementation.

Study
  • Studying how to develop the next generation of ontology-driven decision support systemsWorkflow scalability and privacy are key issues for my clients. I've built some enterprise components for an open-source workflow automation tool (n8n) that enables workflows to maintain state and access control by user with dynamic cloud/ground storage options, and allows conversations to be routed to the most appropriate AI agent.
  • Deepening my expertise in business development and product creation by working with leading startup mentors.
  • Completed typesetting book 2 of Kubu Tales, a long-term writing project.
  • Built a long-range Access Point using a Raspberry Pi and an externally mounted WiFi receiver. Was able to pick up signals from nearly 1km away!
Other

Since last year, I've volunteered with Oxfam at major UK festivals like Glastonbury, Boomtown and Lytham . It’s a powerful way to support a cause I believe in and be part of the massive logistical operation behind these events. It's also how I recharge—there’s nothing like the energy of live music to spark new ideas.

Recent highlights included Pulp's return, catching the legendary Stevie Wonder, and discovering new music from Doechii and Black Uhuru. I also took some of my kids to a small music festival called Mar Me Quer in Portimao, Portugal, to give them a taste of festival life.

I am also  Chair of Governors for our local Primary School, which at times entails raising issues with both local and national government officials to advocate for our students and staff.
